The Windwood Estates subdivision is approximately 500 acres, divided into five units, with 248 lots in total. Its boundaries run from Boerne Stage Rd. on the west to IH-10 on the east. North to south, it spans from Balcones Creek and Balcones Creek Ranch down to Country Bend and Highland Ranch.
We are located approximately 3 miles south of Boerne, about 12 miles north of Loop 1604. Although we are located in Bexar County, and pay Bexar County property taxes, we still are affiliated with the Boerne Post Office. As such, we have Boerne addresses, and are included in the Boerne I.S.D.
Our neighborhood was established in the 1970's, although we still see new homes being built to this day. Our community has never had an HOA or POA but does have a volunteer Deed Restrictions Committee which handles issues that arise from time to time regarding property usage for commercial enterprise and construction guidelines for any permanent structures. Our community members are engaged in social media to share important information, and for the past 25 years many of our residents have volunteered for, and/or participated in, our annual Halloween Hayride!
