Neighbors have partnered with each other to fund and install high-tech camera arrays around the neighborhood. These arrays feature License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology to capture License Plates both day and night, as well as Active Deterrence Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) cameras. Our PTZ cameras are equipped with 5 Megapixel low-light image sensors capable of recording full-color footage at night in Super HD resolution. The PTZ cameras are also equipped with variable-focus lenses, strobe lights, flood lights, 2-way audio, and AI technology to track Human and Vehicle activity.
Volunteers in the neighborhood submit to background checks to become members of the WEAPON. After submitting to the background check, the committee will vote to approve the applicant, once they are approved, they each take shifts patrolling the neighborhood at predetermined schedules. They are in constant contact with fellow neighbors to report suspicious activity on their properties, suspicious persons and vehicles in the area, and emergencies such as accidents and fires.
Our residents work hand-in-hand to collect actionable intelligence and evidence to assist the Bexar County Police (Constable Pct. 3) and Bexar County Sheriff's Office in identifying suspects that commit crimes in our neighborhood. With state-of-the-art surveillance equipment, and a community that communicates effectively, deputies now have a fighting chance at solving crimes in our area that they never had before.
